This innovative, new, dedicated operation will provide unprecedented retail grocery-like access for food-insecure consumers in Warren and Detroit to fresh produce, milk and eggs in a retail grocery-like experience via three shopping models—in-store shopping, curbside pickup and refrigerated lockers. This position is responsible for the facility management of the 8 Mile location in Warren, as well as guest and volunteer experience, inventory and operations management.

Essential Duties
- Lead development, documentation and ongoing refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for key Fresh! operational processes including produce stocking, cooler and freezer stocking, guest registration, guest checkout, curbside and lockers order fulfillment, guest complaint/issue management.
- Manage staff, volunteers and day-to-day operations to deliver Fresh!’s retail-like guest experience; service hours include evenings and Saturdays.
- Schedule, train and develop volunteers to deliver Fresh!’s targeted guest experience while ensuring a high-satisfaction volunteer experience.
- Lead food order and inventory management within budget to ensure sufficient availability, variety and choice; manage Fresh!’s point-of-sale (POS) system updates to align curbside and locker service availability with in-person shopping.
- Manage the 8 Mile facility and site in accordance with Gleaners’/AIB food safety and cleanliness standards.
- Implement Gleaners’ policies and procedures to ensure guest, volunteer and staff safety and security.
- Implement regular operational performance tracking and reporting; leverage data to improve operational efficiency and guest experience.
- Support 8 Mile site events outside Fresh! operations as appropriate.
